Innsbruck Airport draws a positive conclusion from the 2025/26 winter season: between December 2025 and Easter 2026, a total of 684,068 passengers were handled. Passenger numbers at this high level once again underline the airport’s significant contribution to Tyrolean winter tourism. At the same time, this interim result provides an important basis for the further development of the airport’s performance over the full year.
The summer season will start shortly, and despite the impact of the currently challenging situation in the Middle East, Innsbruck Airport is generally looking ahead with confidence.

The beginning of the year proved particularly encouraging: in the first quarter of 2026 (January to March), passenger numbers increased by 3.4% compared to the same period of the previous year. On peak days, up to around 17,500 passengers used Innsbruck Airport. Once again, the UK market was a key driver of this development, with more than 60% of guests travelling from the United Kingdom alone.
“The positive development during the winter months – the most important operational phase of the year for the airport – provides a significant impetus for the 2026 financial year as a whole and creates a solid foundation for the coming months,” summarises airport CEO Marco Pernetta.

Start of the 2026 summer season
The summer season at Innsbruck Airport will begin at the end of April 2026. Despite the current challenging geopolitical situation, expectations for the summer flight programme remain optimistic.
Numerous direct connections to popular Mediterranean destinations in Greece, Italy, Spain, France and Turkey ensure a comfortable start to the summer holidays. Tour operator partners Christophorus Reisen, Idealtours, Rhomberg Reisen, Stoll Reisen and TUI Austria offer an attractive and diverse range of holiday packages departing from Innsbruck.
New to the summer flight schedule is the Greek island of Corfu, which will once again be served directly from Innsbruck after a break of several years.

Increased frequencies on key scheduled routes
The year-round scheduled services are also being expanded: flights to London and Amsterdam will be offered more frequently in summer 2026. London will be served five times a week, while Amsterdam will be operated four times per week. The additional frequencies to Amsterdam, in particular, strengthen connectivity to the international hub at Amsterdam Schiphol and to the global route networks of KLM and Delta Air Lines.
