Innsbruck Airport Expands Information Services with New Online Flight Tracking Platform...
Press Release - 19 August 2026
With the launch of the online portal WebTrak, Innsbruck Airport is taking another step towards greater information, transparency, and open dialogue with the public. Flight movements can now be viewed online together with noise data at any time, free of charge, in a clear, objective, and almost real-time format.
Innsbruck Airport is further enhancing its information services for local residents and the interested public. Effective immediately, the airport's website features WebTrak, a modern online platform that combines flight movement and noise data in a transparent and easy-to-understand way.
On this publicly accessible portal, flight paths are displayed dynamically on an interactive map with a delay of approximately one hour. Users can access detailed information on individual flights, including flight number, aircraft type, aircraft registration, altitude, and flight direction.
The core feature of WebTrak is the integration of flight and noise data. The displayed flight tracks are linked to measurements from the three permanent noise monitoring stations operated by the Province of Tyrol. These stations continuously record all noise events in their respective surroundings. By using radar data, aircraft noise can be clearly distinguished from other environmental noise sources. The radar data required for analysis and visualisation is provided by the Austrian air navigation service provider.
The three noise monitoring stations are located at Fürstenweg in Innsbruck, in the Allerheiligen district, and in Völs - Aircraft Noise Monitoring Stations of the Tyrolean Provincial Government.
Promoting Neighbourhood Dialogue
"With the introduction of WebTrak, Innsbruck Airport is taking another important step in its environmental and community dialogue efforts," says Marco Pernetta, Managing Director of Innsbruck Airport. "Our goal is to support discussions about air traffic and aircraft noise with an objective and data-based foundation."
René Zumtobel, Tyrol’s Provincial Councillor for Environmental Affairs, adds: "Noise is a constant companion for many people in Tyrol, both during the day and at night. The new platform provided by Innsbruck Airport offers publicly accessible and transparent data on aircraft noise, making flight movements and their noise impacts around Innsbruck Airport easier for residents to understand. This can also have a positive effect on the subjective perception of noise. Aircraft noise monitoring and visualisation are now state of the art and complement the monthly reports published by the Province of Tyrol, which also reflect developments in noise exposure at the airport."
The public online portal is available immediately via the Flight Tracking section of the Innsbruck Airport website and through the Aircraft Noise pages of the Tyrolean Provincal Government. Access is free of charge.
