*Type of Operating Hours Extension

§ 9 (4) The operator of a public civil aerodrome is obliged to extend operating hours if required for safety reasons (e.g. emergency or diversion landings) or for flights in the public interest (particularly rescue or disaster-relief missions), provided that the notification is received before the approved end of operations.

§ 9 (5) Furthermore, the operator of a public civil aerodrome is obliged to extend operating hours for flight movements planned within the regular operating hours if compliance with these hours was not possible for unavoidable reasons, and if the corresponding notification is received no later than two hours before the approved end of operations.

§ 9 (6) In cases other than those specified in paragraphs 4 and 5, the aerodrome operator may temporarily extend operating hours, provided that the required facilities are available. The number of such operating hours exceedances may not exceed 0.7% of the total annual flight movements.
