With the switch to the 2024/25 winter flight schedule, the important hub Frankfurt will once again be served directly from Innsbruck. From 27 October 2024, Air Dolomiti, operating on behalf of Deutsche Lufthansa, will operate the Innsbruck–Frankfurt route with up to two daily flights. The flights have already been updated in the Lufthansa booking systems.

This means that in the 2024/25 winter season, Innsbruck will once again be connected not only to the international hubs of Vienna, Munich (Lufthansa Express Bus), Amsterdam and London, but also to Frankfurt. Unscheduled aircraft capacity constraints within the Lufthansa Group led to the temporary suspension of the Innsbruck–Frankfurt route at the end of March 2024. Although these aircraft shortages persist, Innsbruck Airport has succeeded in bringing the Frankfurt route back to Innsbruck at least for the 2024/2025 winter season.

From 27 October 2024, there will be up to two flights per day to the important hub of Frankfurt. Specifically, this means one daily flight from Monday to Sunday, as well as a second daily flight on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Airport Managing Director Marco Pernetta praised the excellent dialogue and cooperation with Deutsche Lufthansa: “There has been a very constructive and intensive exchange on equal footing over the past months. Accordingly, we are very pleased to once again be able to offer our passengers a connection to Frankfurt.” The airport naturally hopes that flights to Frankfurt will continue beyond the winter season:
“After all, international connectivity is an important location factor for Tyrol,” Pernetta adds.
 
Operational difficulties, particularly due to staff shortages, which repeatedly occurred at Frankfurt Airport last year and also affected flights to and from Innsbruck, should now fortunately be a thing of the past.

The connections have already been uploaded to the Lufthansa systems as well as to the common booking systems and are available for booking.

Lufthansa will decide on the continuation of the flights in summer 2025 at a later date.
