At the General Assembly of Tiroler Flughafenbetriebsgesellschaft mbH held on 7 July 2025, the company reviewed the 2024 financial year. The figures show a very positive business performance for the past year, despite the significant challenges associated with the Frankfurt route.
In the 2024 financial year, Innsbruck Airport generated total revenue of just under EUR 42 million. Around 80% of revenues came from the aviation sector, generated directly through aircraft handling and flight operations. The remaining 20% was generated from the non-aviation sector, including business areas such as leasing and rental as well as retail revenues. Due to the suspension of the Frankfurt route between April and October 2024, passenger numbers declined by 4.9%over the full year 2024. Nevertheless, Innsbruck Airport achieved a positive development in its business figures. In addition to a 9.3% increase in revenue compared to the previous year, the airport recorded a profit before tax of more than EUR 6.2 million for the 2024 financial year after deducting all costs and expenses. Compared to the 2023 financial year, profit before tax more than doubled.
The current financial year 2025
The year 2025 began with an exceptionally strong first quarter. The winter season, which is of particular importance for the airport, once again laid the foundation for a financially stable development of the year as a whole. With the start of the second quarter, the renewed suspension of the Frankfurt route presented the airport with major challenges, which are still ongoing. However, the negative impact on passenger numbers is significantly lower in the current year, and the summer season is proving overall to be very satisfactory. A total of 20 different destinations are included in the 2025 summer flight schedule, with the new destination Antalya being particularly well received.
In the first half of 2025, 630,546 passengers were handled in scheduled and charter traffic, representing an increase of 2.1% compared with the first half of 2024. By the end of the year, passenger development is expected to remain stable, with annual passenger numbers projected to be at a similar level to the previous year.
