Airport tours

Travel enthusiasts, aviation fans, and young visitors can experience the action at Innsbruck Airport up close during a group tour. Group tours are offered from mid-May to the end of September – for safety reasons, advance appointment is required.

What can I expect on an airport tour?

The content of the tour can be summarized in one sentence:

“Experience the passenger journey firsthand.”

The tour starts in the departure hall, continues through security, onto the apron, back to arrivals, and returns to the public area. During the tour, you will receive fascinating facts and information about Innsbruck Airport, a brief historical overview, explanations of various processes such as check-in, baggage loading, aircraft refueling, and much more, as well as descriptions of the roles of our ground handling staff and the equipment required for aircraft operations.

How long does a tour last?

The tour lasts approximately 1 hour.

Do I need to carry an ID for the airport tour?

Yes. Every participant aged 18 or older must carry a valid photo ID (passport, identity card, or driver’s license). For children’s groups, only the accompanying adults need a valid photo ID.

Are there any costs?

A tour costs €35 per group.
The fee is fully donated to a social institution in Tyrol.

Requests and bookings for the 2026 tour season will be gladly accepted from the end of March 2026.
